Our Treatment Philsophy:
At Healing Solutions Counseling Center, we believe that sexual addiction is a disease or disorder that impacts the individual, the partner, and the couple. Some therapists and treatment centers focus exclusively on the addict or the individual. While individual treatment is a very important part of the recovery process, we firmly believe that the partner and the couple relationship are in significant pain as well and as a result, are in need of healing. In some cases, there may even be chidlren that because of their age and awareness, will require counseling.
We therefore seek to treat all of our clients in a unique and individualized manner. We approach treatment from the perspective of the entire family system. Although the individual addict will receive individual counseling for the addiction, we ideally like to also see the partner receive individual counseling - pertaining specifically to what he or she is going through - to help deal with the considerable pain and the emotional rollercoaster that accompanies discovery of this type of behavior and the resultant impact it has on both individuals, as well as the couple and family relationship as a whole.
